March 13, 2013- ALBANY, GA- Albany Technical College will host the ninth annual workshop and luncheon for area clergy on Thursday, March 14, 2013, from 11:30a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Kirkland Conference Center. The theme for the luncheon is "Real World Training for the Real World Workforce." The purpose of this event is to provide information to clergy in our community about educational choices at Albany Tech, financial aid options and employment opportunities available to graduates.

"We understand the important role ministers play in the lives of our students," said Lisandra DeJesus, Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at Albany Tech. "It is these people who shape our students' character and encourage them to take advantage of education and better their lives. With the help of our local clergy, we can strengthen the Southwest Georgia community – one family at a time."

Keynote speaker will be Mr. Jose Mendoza, Pastor of Centro Cristiano Victoria Church. A native of Puerto Rico, Mendoza moved to Albany in 1996 and began attending Victory Tabernacle in 1997. In August of 1997, Mendoza founded the Centro Cristiano Victoria Church where he began to translate the word of God to the Hispanic population. He and his wife have one daughter.

President of Albany Tech, Dr. Anthony O. Parker, will address the group and provide a challenge to them of helping those in the community who may need to go to college or even get their GED® to do so. In addition, several student testimonials, the Albany Tech Chorus will also perform.
