- Albany Technical College will host the fourth annual workshop and luncheon for area clergy on February 17, 2008 from 11:00a.m. until 1:30p.m. in the Kirkland Conference Center. The theme for the luncheon is “Building Stronger Families through Technical Education.” The purpose of this event is to provide information to clergy in our community about educational choices at Albany Tech, financial aid options and employment opportunities available to graduates. The Reverend Chuck Mathis, the Senior Pastor of First Mount Moriah Baptist Church, will be the keynote speaker.

“We understand the important role youth ministers and other clergy play in the life of our students,” said Pamela Heglar, Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.  “It is these people who shape our students’ character and encourage them to take advantage of education and better their lives. With the help of our local clergy, we can build stronger families and a stronger workforce for southwest Georgia.”

A second luncheon will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 from 11:00a.m. until 1:30p.m. at Albany Technical College’s Randolph County Learning Center at 241 U.S. Highway 82 East, Cuthbert, Georgia. Reverend Rufus Davis, from Second Mount Zion Baptist Church of Albany, will be the keynote speaker.
