Albany Technical College to Hold Careers In High Demand Summer Enrichment Camp

June 9, 2016 - Albany, GA - Albany Technical College’s Healthcare Technology and Computer Technology Programs will a Careers In High Demand Summer Enrichment Camp. The Camp will be held June 7-30th, 2016. Camp days will be Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays of each week from 8:30am to 11:30am.

In order to align its mission with the Governor’s High Demand Career Initiative to expose and ignite genuine interest among high school students to the various career options, Albany Technical College created the eight-week camps to promote skills and careers in the Healthcare and Information Technologies professions.

The camps are open to 25 high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors within Albany Tech’s Service Delivery Area, which includes Baker, Calhoun, Clay, Dougherty, Lee, Randolph, and Terrell counties. There is no cost to attend. Students attending will learn about safety and career options in the Networking, Drafting, and Surgical Technology programs, as well as be part of lab demonstrations.

Students attending the camp will also be able to attend workshops on Interview and Resume Techniques on June 30th in the Albany Tech Career Development Center. They will participate in some community service activities such as visiting a nursing home to feed residents or be a part of Meals On Wheels with SOWEGA Council on Aging.
