Albany Technical College holds Titans Sophomore Night

Albany, Georgia – Albany Technical College (ATC) will hold its annual Sophomore Night during the regularly scheduled basketball games on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at the Albany State University HPER Gym. The event will honor several sophomore basketball players from the 2018-2019 season. The Lady Titans will kick off the evening’s games at 5:30 p.m., while the men’s team will play at 7:30 p.m. Both teams will go up against the Andrew College Tigers.

Five Titan players on the men’s team will be recognized including Jamarcis Nunally and Darrell Bryant.  Both have played for the Albany Tech Titans for two years. Nunally, a standout guard, came to Albany Tech from Monroe High School and Bryant, a strong forward, came from Albany High.  Other Titan men to be recognized are Donovan Butler, Chris Bois, and Eric Bailey.  Butler and Bois, both starters, are natives of Conyers, GA and have played for the Titans for two years.  A native of Savannah, GA, Bailey joined the team as a guard this season.

Lady Titans to be recognized include Clara Bentley, Kereen Thompson, and Lawerencia Simon. Bentley, a native of Jacksonville, FL, joined the team after graduation from Westside High and has been a starting guard for two years. Bentley has committed to the University of Virgin Islands. Thompson came to ATC from North Clayton High in Atlanta, GA and has played the center position for two years.  Simon, a South Atlanta High graduate, joined the Lady Titans this season as a guard.

In addition to the Titan basketball players, cheerleader Janae Jones will be recognized.  Jones, a Cosmetology major, is scheduled to graduate summer semester from ATC.

An annual Titans Athletics Banquet is scheduled to be held in April to recognize all players on both the men and women’s team.
