Albany Technical College holds Titans Athletic Banquet Friday evening

April 10, 2015 - ALBANY, GA. — Albany Technical College will hold its annual Titans Athletic Banquet on Friday, April 10, 2015, beginning at 6pm in the Kirkland Conference Center. The event will honor basketball players from the 2014-2015 season.

Keynote speaker for the banquet will be Dr. Eric L. Holland, Head Boy’s Basketball Coach at Tift County High School. Born in Miami, Florida and raised in Donalsonville, Georgia, Holland has won ten consecutive region championships. His career coaching record is 273-55, leading Turner County to two state runner-up titles. He led two different basketball programs to five final fours and has 11 consecutive years in the state tournament and 10 consecutive 20 wins or better seasons. He has been named Region Coach of the Year nine times and was named the North All-State Team Coach in 2007 and 2008.

During the 2014 season, Holland led Tift County Boys Basketball team to its second state title. Tift became the first South Georgia team to win a state title in the state’s largest classification. Holland received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Education from Georgia Southwestern State University and his Specialist in Educational Leadership from Albany State University. He is a member of the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association (GACA) and the owner and founder of HOOPS PHI Basketball Academy, which focuses on teaching kids the best practice on and off the court.

Albany Tech Men’s Titans and Lady Titans will both receive several awards during tonight’s ceremony. The Titans Cheerleaders will also be recognized, as well as a video recap presentation of the season.
