Albany Technical College Holds Fall National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) Induction Ceremony on Tuesday Evening

October 17, 2016 - Albany, GA - Albany Technical College will hold the annual Fall National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) Induction Ceremony on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, beginning at 6pm in the George Kirkland Conference Center.

Sixteen Albany Tech students will be inducted this fall. In order to qualify for induction into the NTHS, students must meet the following requirements: be enrolled at Albany Tech; have completed two consecutive semesters of course work, a minimum of 18 credit hours; hold at least a 3.5 Grade Point Average (GPA) overall; exemplify the personal qualities of an honor student (safety conscious, works well with others, dependable, trustworthy, responsible, honest, takes pride in work, exhibits good citizenship, and make a neat and clean appearance); and maintain the required grade average to remain a member of the organization.

Keynote speaker for the evening will be Dr. Raymond Andrews, Founder and Pastor of Raines Baptist Church of Dawson, Georgia. A native of Sandersville, Georgia, Andrews received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management from Albany State University and a doctorate in Theology from Bethany Theological Seminary. He also serves as Chaplain for Tyson Foods, On-Call Chaplain for Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Spiritual Advisor to Tri-County Workshop Choir, Chaplain Candidate for the Georgia National Guard, and has served as Guest Chaplain at the Georgia House of Representatives.

Albany Tech student, Gregory Ewings, who is also the NTHS President for the Georgia Chapter, will provide the opening remarks and the pledge/charge to the new inductees. Four Albany Tech NTHS members will officiate for the Candlelight Ceremony, a tradition of NTHS induction.
