Albany Technical College Health Care Technology Division Holds Capping & Pinning Ceremony Wednesday

December 4, 2012- ALBANY, GA-On Wednesday, December 5, 2012, Albany Technical College's Health Care Technology Division will hold its Capping and Pinning Ceremony beginning at 12Noon in the Kirkland Conference Center.


Keynote speaker for the ceremony will be Charles Proctor, Program Chair for the Paramedicine Technology Program at Albany Technical College.


A native of Atlanta, Proctor has been a Paramedic since 1986. He worked as a Paramedic in Valdosta in 1999 when he began teaching EMT's at Albany Tech. Proctor started the first Paramedic Program at Albany Tech in 2001 and has trained some of the best Paramedics over the last 12 years. Proctor has had the privilege of working with Dr. Charles B. Gillespie, M.D. (who the First Responders Center at Albany Tech is named for), who pioneered the organization of the modern Emergency Medical Services in the State of Georgia.


During the ceremony, almost 10 capping candidates are eligible for the Practical Nursing Program. Several pinning candidates are eligible in the following Health Care programs: Practical Nursing, Health Information Technology, Paramedicine Technology, Medical Assisting, Pharmacy Technology, and Surgical Technology.
