Albany Technical College GOAL Nominees and Winner to Be Announced at Rotary Thursday by Albany Area Chamber

 ALBANY, GA - The 2017 Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) nominees and ultimately, the winner for Albany Technical College will be announced during the Albany Rotary Club lunch on Thursday, January 25, 2017, at 12Noon at Doublegate Country Club by Albany Area Chamber President, Barbara Rivera-Holmes.

During a banquet held in November, five nominees for GOAL were presented: Lise Adams-Mason (Environmental Horticulture); Travis Apperson (Electronics and Engineering Technology); Jamekia Collins (Law Enforcement Technology); Nilkumar “Nil” Patel (Electronics and Engineering Technology); and Tonyari Scott (Electronics and Engineering Technology).

The final three GOAL nominees that were interviewed by a panel comprised by the Albany Chamber of Commerce last week included: Lise Adams-Mason (Environmental Horticulture); Jamekia Collins (Law Enforcement Technology); and Nilkumar “Nil” Patel (Electronics and Engineering Technology).
 
The winner selected from the three nominees will have the opportunity to compete at the Regional Competition for GOAL, which will be held for the Southwest Georgia consortium for the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) on February 21, 2017, at Southern Regional Technical College’s
Tifton campus. Finally, the candidate will move on to compete at the State GOAL competition to be held April 11-13 in Atlanta. The state winner is the official spokesperson for technical education in Georgia for 2017.
