Albany Technical College Engineering Prep Academy to Hold Engineering Week March 6-10

ALBANY, GA – In celebration of National Engineering Week, Albany Technical College’s Engineering Preparatory Academy (EPA) will hold an Engineering Week on March 6-10, 2017, with several events planned for the five-day event.

Kickoff day, Monday, March 6th, will be an open community event, including a panel of engineers from the local Albany area. Tuesday, March 7th will be Albany High School Day with students on campus from Albany High, Dougherty High, Monroe Comprehensive High, and Westover High. High School Day will continue on Wednesday with students from other counties within Albany Tech’s Service Delivery Area (SDA), including Baker, Calhoun, Lee, Randolph, Terrell, and Turner Job Corps students. Thursday will be Middle School Day with students on campus from Albany Middle, Merry Acres Middle, Radium Springs Middle, and Southside Middle School.

“The students will engage in hands-on activities with participating engineering programs here at Albany Tech, such as Civil Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, and Electronics Engineering,” said Michelle Lilly-Williams, Director of Albany Tech’s Engineering Preparatory Academy.

The week will end on Friday with the groups returning for popcorn and a movie.
