Albany Technical College Employee Named to Albany Herald’s “40 Under 40” List

July 20, 2016 - Albany, GA - Albany Technical College Retention Coordinator, Kerisha Wilson, has been named as a recipient of the Albany Herald’s “40 Under 40” list for 2016. She has been employed by Albany Tech since June of 2015.

A native of Talladega County, Alabama, Wilson is a graduate of the Talladega County School System and received her bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a minor in Sociology from Alabama A&M University. She also holds a master’s degree in higher and post-secondary education from Argosy University, Atlanta.

Wilson has worked in higher education for most of her career, holding various Student Affairs positions, including Financial Aid Technician, Admissions Representative, Retention and Recruitment Specialist, Events Coordinator, Judiciary Official, and Cheer Coach. She has also taught Adult Education classes and has been employed in Administration and Finance. Most recently, she pioneered S.W.E.E.T.S. (Sisters Working, Encouraging, and Educating Each Other for Success), an organization aimed at assisting young women in college.

“It is an honor and privilege to be selected as a 2016 Southwest Georgia 40 Under 40 recipient,” said Wilson. “I am humbled and forever grateful to have the opportunity to serve in the workplace and in the community and look forward to continuing to serve the needs of Southwest Georgia.”

The daughter of Melvin and Conthia Wilson, she has three siblings and five nephews. In her spare time, she enjoys family, mentoring, traveling, drag racing, and sports.
