Albany Technical College Announces New Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness

May 16, 2013- Albany, Ga-- Albany Technical College is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness. Dr. Kimberly Lee will replace Vicki Tucker, who served in the position since 2003. Prior to this position, Tucker served as Chair and Instructor of the Environmental Horticulture for 17 years.


Dr. Lee comes to Albany Tech from the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education, where she served as the Vice Chancellor for Adult Education for the past year. Lee holds over 23 years of experience in leadership roles that emphasize program development and services for adult learners within the adult education community.


Lee was employed with the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), Albany Tech's governing body, for over 16 years, where she held several administrative positions within the Office of Adult Education. She served as the Director of General Education Development (GED®) Testing from 2006 to 2011, leading the state's initial efforts to prepare for Computer Based Testing (CBT) and the 2014 GED® Test. She served as a member of the Office of Adult Education's leadership team. Prior to that, she served as the Director of Assessment, Evaluation and GED® Testing, a position in which she revised the program review process and provided strategic leadership in restructuring GED® Testing operations. From 1994 to 1997, Lee served as the Technical Assistance Manager and Curriculum Coordinator, playing a leadership role in the modification of the adult education and the adult secondary (GED® prep) curricula.


Prior to her tenure with TCSG, Lee was employed with the Florida Department of Education as an adult education program specialist. Previously, she held positions as adjunct instructor for the College of Education at Florida A&M University, and special education teacher for the Gadsden County Schools in Quincy, Florida.


A native of Ocala, Florida, Lee obtained her bachelor's degree in International Affairs and her master's degree in Learning Disabilities from Florida State University. She recently received her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Adult Education from the University of Georgia. Currently, she is a member on the American Council on Education Commission on Lifelong Learning.


In her new role as Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness, Lee will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the internal and external resource development plan for the college; she will also oversee grant proposals, research and gather information for data reports. Further, she will chair the data team for Achieving the Dream (ATD) efforts for the college and serve on the ATD Core Team. Lee will play a crucial role in helping to develop the implementation plan for ATD initiatives, which address improving student success.
