Albany Tech to Host Sixth Annual FFA Floriculture Competition

November 21, 2013- Albany, GA-  Albany Tech's Horticulture Program will host the sixth annual Future Farmers of America (FFA) Floriculture Team Challenge Competition on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at 4pm, in the campus Environmental Horticulture building off Newton Road.

The Floriculture Team Challenge is a competition of area FFA Floriculture Junior and Senior level teams. The Team Challenge is conducted using the same criteria as local and state FFA Floriculture CDE's with each team competing in plant identification, problem solving, general knowledge and plant disorders. The event is geared toward providing practice and preparation for teams to compete on the local and state level.

At the end of Thursday's competition, Albany Tech Environmental Horticulture instructor, George Paul, will award trophies to teams placing first, second, and third in the Junior and Senior Divisions. Members of each placing team will be awarded a ribbon.
