Albany Tech to dedicate the Anthony O. Parker, Ph.D. Library and Media Center on Monday

November 18, 2011 - Albany Technical College will hold a dedication ceremony for the Anthony O. Parker, Ph.D. Library and Media Center on Monday, November 21, 2011, at 11am in the Logistics Education Center with a reception immediately following in the Kirkland Conference Center.


The Albany Technical College Board of Directors voted to name in the new Library and Media Center after the college’s current president, Dr. Anthony O. Parker, who has dedicated the past 16 years of his life to serving as the fifth president of the college and under whose leadership the college has experienced unprecedented growth and expansion.


Over the past 16 years, Parker’s vision has established Albany Technical College as a leader within the Technical College System of Georgia and as a premier workforce development institution in Southwest Georgia by consistently achieving high student enrollment, graduation and placement rates, thus improving the lives of thousands of local citizens.


Special speakers for the dedication include Ron Jackson, Commissioner of the Technical College System of Georgia; Dr. Ivan Allen, President of Middle Georgia Technical College; and Billy Taylor, Albany Tech Student Government Association President. In addition, a special presentation will be given by Congressman Sanford Bishop, as well as Debbie Cannon with Senator Saxby Chambliss’ office and Jody Redding with Senator Johnny Isakson’s office.
