Albany Tech Titan to Sign with NCAA Division 1 University
November 12, 2009 - Barely into his second season as a Titan, one of Albany Technical College’s best men’s basketball players is already planning the next phase of his academic and athletic career.
Today Waylon Jones, a power forward from Rocky Mount, N.C., will sign a letter of intent to play basketball for Southeast Missouri State University. The official signing is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. in the Student Activities Lounge in Freedom Hall on Albany Tech’s main campus.
A law enforcement major, Jones plans to finish the current season as an ATC Titan. Next fall, he will join the NCAA Division 1 Redhawks and begin working toward earning a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
