November 18, 2009 - (Albany Herald) The Albany Tech men and women swept East Georgia on Monday with the Titans winning, 99-82, and the women winning, 82-36. The Lady Titans were led by Quanisha Smith with 12, Tierra Harrison 12 and Tikaya Sherrod with 12.
“It was good to get that second win,” said women’s coach Kenneth Mitchell, whose team earned its first Saturday and now is 2-1. “Hopefully, we can keep building on that.
The men, meanwhile, were led by Jerry Lewis with 17, followed by Justin Wilcox (15), Wilbur Lake and Duran Blue with 13 each, Rontrel Frazier with 11 and Tyerell Johnson with 12.
“We’re just trying to get back on the winning track,” said Titans coach Sylvester Patterson, whose team’s record improved to 3-4. “We did a little better from the free-throw line. We were 19-of-28 from there. It’s not great, but it’s better compared to what we had been shooting.”
