Albany Tech Survey Aligns Needs of Students and Industry

January 31, 2011 (WALB) – Albany Tech is working to make sure the students they educate, meet the needs of the business community.  Right now, a workforce assessment survey is being done to find out what the needs of employers within Southwest Georgia will be in the next five to ten years.

President Anthony Parker says the goal is to make sure that when industries are hiring, they are able to draw from graduates of Albany Tech, and that students get jobs when they graduate.

Dr. Parker said, "Very successful programs have come to the forefront that we were not operating at the time.  The Pharmacy Tech program, the truck driving program, the industrial systems maintenance program, biomedical electronics.  All of those are programs that came at the result of a prior survey."

Albany Tech serves a seven county area of Southwest Georgia.  If you run a business and want input on work force training, check out their survey.
