Albany Tech student wins top honors at national Phi Beta Lambda competition

June 25, 2009 – An Albany Technical College student placed in the Top Ten at the 2009 Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference held in Anaheim, CA from June 20-23, 2009. Erica Savage, an Accounting student from Albany, placed sixth in the Future Business Teacher category.

Phi Beta Lambda, the post-secondary division of Future Business Leaders of America, is an educational association made up of 250,000 students nationwide. The organization prepares students for careers in business and business-related fields. More than 1,700 college business students competed in the national competition, including three from Albany Technical College. Students and area chapters from across the United States competed in more than 50 events.


Albany Technical College instructor and Georgia Phi Beta Lambda Professional Division president, Theresa West of Lee County, received national recognition for the 2008-2009 Outstanding Local Adviser Award.
