August 29, 2011 - Albany Technical College will plant a time capsule on Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at 11am, on the grounds between Freedom Hall and Nathaniel Cross Building, in honor of its 50th anniversary.

Since the beginning of 2011, items were gathered to go in the time capsule that ranged from a Titans jersey, current program brochures, Quarter-to-Semester (Q2S) items, and many others to commemorate things from both the past 50 years and the present year. In addition, a photo of the faculty and staff was taken earlier in the year and a print placed in the time capsule. The time capsule will be opened in another 50 years by future
Albany Technical College administrations.

The last formal event commemorating the Albany Tech’s 50th anniversary will come at the end of September with a gala on September 30th at Phoebe Towers North. A reception will begin at 6pm and dinner at 7pm. Live music from Reflections Band and a 50th slideshow will also commemorate the evening. Tickets are available for purchase of this event from the college, as well as sponsorship packages.
