Albany Tech Phi Beta Lambda Members Win 2015 Southern Region Awards

March 23, 2015- Albany, GA- Albany Technical College Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) students competed and won awards at the 2015 Southern Region PBL Competition held on March 6th at Southwest Georgia Technical College in Thomasville.

The competition consisted of written and skill exams where students were tested on concept knowledge and skills in using software programs. Alban Tech student PBL members who attended and competed include Bettye Bryant, Tanitha Jackson, and Shynekia Emanuel. Albany Tech PBL Advisor and Business Administrative Technology instructor attending was Nicole Lane.

The winners included: Bettye Bryant (Fourth Place in Business Communications and Third Place in Computer Concepts); Tanitha Jackson (First Place in Desktop Publishing); and Shynekia Emanuel (Second Place in Word Processing). "Battle of the Chapters" was another part of the regional competition. Shynekia Emanuel and Tanitha Jackson were participants in this competition as well.

Albany Tech PBL members finished fourth out of 10 chapters in attendance.
