Albany Tech introduces new bookstore

October 25, 2012- ALBANY, GA from WALB- Albany Tech's new bookstore is over twice as big as the one it replace.

The old bookstore was 2,574 square feet, and the new bookstore covers 5,575 square feet.

The renovation cost was $450,000. Funds leftover from the building of the Logistics Education Center were used for the new bookstore, as well as the new Hotel/Restaurant/Tourism and Marketing Management labs just opened a couple of months ago.

ATC's bookstore nets approximately $250,000 revenue per fiscal year, which runs July 1st through June 30th.

An added bonus with the new store is a new way of getting books called "Titans Book Express."

This will allow students who go on our website to order books to check "pickup at store," instead of having the books shipped.

Then, the bookstore staff will set up a time for the students to come and pick up their books already packaged and ready to go.

This will cut down on turnaround and wait time for students to get their books each semester.
