July 29, 2015- Albany, GA- Albany Technical College will hold Health Care Technology programs Capping and Pinning for summer term on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, beginning at 6pm in the Kirkland Conference Center. Keynote speaker for the program will be Jane Field.
Jane Field is a graduate of Emory University School of Nursing and has worked in healthcare continuously for 47 years. She was employed in hospitals for 31 years in Atlanta, California, North Carolina, and Albany, Georgia and has worked in all areas of nursing, including the OR, critical care, ER, Infection Control, Staff Education, and as a nursing supervisor.
Retiring in May of this year, Field was an adjunct faculty member at Darton State College for 16 years, teaching in five programs in the Health Science Division and retiring in May 2015. A member of Sigma Theta Tau, International Honor Society for Nursing, Field is also an honorary member of Lambda Beta Society, National Honor Society for the profession of Respiratory Care.
She served as a medical volunteer at the 1996 summer Olympic Games in Atlanta, and was chosen to work in areas designated for the emergency care of royalty and foreign dignitaries. She authored three articles that were published in Emergency Response and the Journal for Georgia EMS providers.
Almost 70 Albany Tech students will be recognized during Wednesday evening's ceremony, including Associate of Science in Nursing, Practical Nursing, Pharmacy Technology, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, Dental Assisting, Medical Assisting, Health Information Coding, and Health Information Management programs.
