Albany Tech Holds Honors Program for Winter Graduates on Tuesday

January 16, 2012 - Albany Technical College will hold Honors Day for winter graduates on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the Kirkland Conference Center.


Award categories represented for this Honors Day will include: Albany Technical College Chorus, Foundation Setters for Future Minds, Honors/High Honors/Highest Honors, National Technical Honors Society (NTHS), President’s List, SkillsUSA, Student Government Association (SGA), and General Education Development (GED).

Guest speaker for the ceremony will be Dr. Dorothy King Garner, Dean of Academic Affairs for the Health Care Technology Division at Albany Technical College. Garner began her academic journey at Albany Tech as a 1971 graduate in the Practical Nursing program. She then continued on at Albany Junior College with an associate degree in nursing; bachelor’s and master’s degree in education from Valdosta State College; Educational Specialist degree from University of Georgia; Doctorate of Ministry from Christian Life School of Theology; and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Argosy University.

Albany Technical College will hold graduation ceremonies for winter graduates on Friday, January 20, 2012, at 7 p.m. at the Albany Civic Center. More information about this graduation to come later this week.
