May 19, 2014- Albany, GA from WALB- Albany Technical College has received a literary grant for adult education.

For the second year in a row, the college was awarded the Dollar General Literary Foundation Grant. The $7,000 grant is used to help students take the GED test, that cost $160. Albany Tech says funding is critical for students.

"This is one way that we will be able to increase funding: by offering scholarships to those individuals who need to test," said Vice President of Adult Education Linda Coston.

Students can contact Albany Technical College to find out how to qualify. The money will be ready to use July 1st.

There is no deadline for students to apply for the scholarship money.

The money is based on good academic standing and financial need. There are 6 other colleges in the Technical College system that received the same grant.
