February 26, 2009 – Albany Technical College named Practical Nursing student Bridgett Morris the Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) winner during an Albany Tech Foundation meeting this morning.

The GOAL program recognizes exceptional technical college students from across the state for their academic excellence and personal achievement. The program also spotlights the important role of technical training in our economy.

Morris will now compete against six GOAL finalists representing the technical colleges in the Southwest Georgia consortium. Then, 12 consortium winners from across the state will compete at the state level in May. The state winner serves as an ambassador of technical education in Georgia.

Morris will graduate from the practical nursing program this fall, and she plans to continue her education and earn a nursing degree.
