February 15, 2011 - Albany Technical College honored seven nominees for its annual Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) on Monday, February 14, 2011, at 5:30pm, at the Manufacturing Technology Center.
Albany Tech President, Dr. Anthony Parker, presented awards to the seven nominees. At the end of the recognition, four out of the seven were recognized as the four finalists for the competition. The final four include: Brandon Bass (Radiologic Technology); Chancy Davis (Marketing Management); Patrick Jenkins (Environmental Horticulture); and Rodriquez Thomas (Early Childhood Care and Education). These four will go on to compete for the finalist spot to represent Albany Tech at the regional GOAL luncheon to be held at Altamaha Technical College on March 24, 2011.
On next Thursday, February 24, 2011, Albany Tech will present the four finalists to the Rotary Club at Doublegate Country Club. The Chamber of Commerce panel will then choose the finalist out of the four. This individual, along with one winner from each technical college in the state, will have an opportunity to go on to Atlanta to compete at the State GOAL competition on May 25-26, 2011. The state winner will be the official spokesperson for technical education in Georgia for 2011.

They are Brandon Bass (Radiologic Technology); Chancy Davis (Marketing Management); Beverly Jenkins (Environmental Horticulture); Patrick Jenkins (Environmental Horticulture); Kelly Morris (Radiologic Technology); Rodriquez Thomas (Early Childhood Care and Education); and Stephanie Wright (Accounting).
The GOAL program recognizes exceptional technical college students from across the state for their academic excellence and personal achievement. The program also spotlights the important role of technical training in our economy.
