Albany Technical College Military Friendly School 2019

Albany, Georgia – Albany Technical College has been awarded a 2019 Military Friendly Silver Designation by VIQTORY, a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB) that connects the military community to civilian employment, educational and entrepreneurial opportunities through its G.I. Jobs ® , Military Spouse, and Military Friendly ® brands. The 2019-2020 List of “Better for Veterans” institutions was identified across the country and all participating schools were contacted in January informing them of their ranking.

SkillsUSA week 2019

ALBANY, GA – Students and faculty at Albany Technical College (ATC) will join others across the nation to celebrate SkillsUSA Week, which is Feb. 3-9, 2019. SkillsUSA is celebrated the second week of February each year. This awareness campaign recognizes the efforts involved, underscoring the purpose and mission which is to help prepare workers in public career and technical programs. On Tuesday, February 5, 8:30 am, ATC President Dr. Anthony Parker will sign a proclamation declaring the week at Albany Tech as SkillsUSA Week. The signing will take place in the Albany Technical College’s Logistics Education Center, ExecutiveBoard Room (second floor). SkillsUSA participating students will be on hand for the signing.

2019 ATC GOAL Winner Charle Roberts

ALBANY, GEORGIA – Today at Albany Rotary Club’s weekly meeting, a panel formed by the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce named the Albany Technical College 2019 Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) winner. Charlie Roberts, Criminal Justice Technology student at Albany Tech, will represent the College for 2019 as the GOAL Student of the Year.

Albany Tech and Georgia Southwestern Signs a Pathway Memorandum of Understanding

Albany Technical College (ATC) officially signs a Pathway Program understanding with Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 9 a.m. in Albany Technical College’s Logistics Education Center, Executive Board Room (second floor). This agreement provides an avenue for AAS degree graduates of Albany Technical College to make a seamless transition to one of southwest Georgia’s premier four-year universities. AAS graduates that choose to take advantage of this agreement will have the opportunity to remain in their communities while completing the requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Long Term Care Management (LTCM) degree in an online or classroom setting.

Diesel Equipment Technology demonstration

ALBANY, GA – The community is preparing for a shortage of trained diesel technicians in the Southwest Georgia area through concise efforts to thwart the issue. Albany Technical College will hold a special recognition of the revitalized Diesel Equipment Technology Program on Wednesday, January 16, 2018, 10 a.m., Freedom Hall, Room 113. Dr. Anthony Parker and employers from the community such as Dougherty County School System Transportation Department, Grady EMT, City of Albany, Penske and Procter & Gamble will be on hand to discuss the need for these workers and how it can affect our economy.
