Albany Technical College Signs a Pathway Memorandum of Understanding with Georgia Southwestern State University
Albany Technical College (ATC) officially signs a Pathway Program understanding with Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 9 a.m. in Albany Technical College’s Logistics Education Center, Executive Board Room (second floor). This agreement provides an avenue for AAS degree graduates of Albany Technical College to make a seamless transition to one of southwest Georgia’s premier four-year universities. AAS graduates that choose to take advantage of this agreement will have the opportunity to remain in their communities while completing the requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Long Term Care Management (LTCM) degree in an online or classroom setting.
Diesel Equipment Technology: A Revitalized Program Rollout at Albany Technical College
ALBANY, GA – The community is preparing for a shortage of trained diesel technicians in the Southwest Georgia area through concise efforts to thwart the issue. Albany Technical College will hold a special recognition of the revitalized Diesel Equipment Technology Program on Wednesday, January 16, 2018, 10 a.m., Freedom Hall, Room 113. Dr. Anthony Parker and employers from the community such as Dougherty County School System Transportation Department, Grady EMT, City of Albany, Penske and Procter & Gamble will be on hand to discuss the need for these workers and how it can affect our economy.
Construction Classes at Albany Technical College move to Temporary Locations on Campus
Albany, Georgia - On October 10, Albany, Georgia experienced a devastating storm, Hurricane Michael, which impaired much of the city. One of the buildings on Albany Technical College’s campus, Carlton Construction Academy, suffered extensive damage to the roof. As a result, six programs were affected involving over 200 students. The six programs include: Air Conditioning Technology, Building Maintenance, Carpentry, Electrical Construction, Masonry and Plumbing Technology. These programs will have temporary locations around the campus at Albany Technical College. Classes are scheduled to resume for all students Monday, January 7. Any construction student affected by this temporary move may report to the Academic Advisement Center for further information in the Nathaniel Cross Health Care Technology Building.
Albany Technical College Holds a Surgical Technology Ribbon Cutting Showcasing a New State-Of-The-Art Lab
Albany, Georgia – Albany Technical College will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. on Thursday December 13, 2018 highlighting the renovations of the teaching lab in the Surgical Technology Program. The event will be held at the Nathaniel Cross Health Technology Building (HCT), room 139, on the campus of Albany Tech.
Albany Technical College Holds Fall Commencement Exercises
ALBANY, GA – Albany Technical College will hold Fall 2018 Commencement Exercises on Thursday, December 6, 2018, 7 p.m. at the Albany Civic Center. A reception will be held prior to the ceremony at 6:15 p.m. in the Meeting Room of the Civic Center.
