Rondell Williams - Albany Technical College 2020 GOAL Delegate.

ALBANY, GEORGIA – Today at Albany Rotary Club’s weekly meeting, a panel formed by the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce named the Albany Technical College 2020 Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) winner. Rondell Williams, Radiologic Technology student at Albany Tech, will represent the College for 2020 as the GOAL Student of the Year.

Mechanical + Electrical Engineering + Computer Science = MECHATRONICS TECHNOLOGY
ALBANY, GA – Albany Technical College will host a gathering to recognize an in-demand field here in the Southwest Georgia area called Mechatronics.  The Mechatronics program will be discussed on Thursday, January 30, 2020, at 10 a.m., in the Manufacturing Technology Center (MTC), Room 115.  Dr. Emmett Griswold, Executive Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Adrian Walters, Mechatronics Technology Program Chair and Instructor, and employers from the community will be on hand to discuss the need for these skilled workers and the future of the industry.

Albany, Georgia – The Center for Business Solutions at Albany Technical College and the Albany Tech Foundation will host the 2020 Master Lecture Series starting January 22. Community guests, students, and faculty will be able to enjoy lunch and listen to a speaker share perspectives on leadership and success. Sessions will be held on select Wednesdays beginning at 12:00 p.m. in the Kirkland Conference Center on the Albany Tech campus.

Albany, Georgia – Eight Students from the Surgical Technology Program at Albany Technical College passed the national certification exam on their first attempt, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), and obtained CST certification. All students passed, representing a 100% pass rate for the graduating class in December 2019. Six of the eight students have been placed locally in healthcare facilities.

Albany Technical College Success Terms.

Albany, Georgia – Monday is the beginning of a new semester at Albany Technical College. Spring is the second semester under the new Success Terms, 7 weeks plus 7 weeks semesters. Both semesters, fall and spring, have seen increases in overall average hours each student is taking per semester. The total enrollment is expected to follow the same upward trend for the spring semester 2020 versus the spring semester 2019. Albany Technical College saw a 3.3% increase in enrollment from Fall 2018 to Fall 2019 and a 3.4% increase in total credit hours.
