Albany Technical College Signs a Lease Agreement with SouthernAG Carriers To Help Answer the Truck Driver Shortage
ALBANY, GEORGIA – Albany Technical College will enter into a three-year lease agreement with SouthernAG Carriers, Inc. during a ceremony on Monday, November 26 at 10:00 a.m. in Albany Technical College’s Logistics Education Center, Executive Board Room (second floor). Under the agreement, Albany Technical College will receive a “bobtail” tractor unit to use in educational services providing driver training and certification in the operation of tractor trailers. The vehicle will be leased from SouthernAG Carriers for one dollar ($1) per year.
Public Notice: Active Shooter Drill scheduled at Albany Technical College
ALBANY, GA – The Campus Safety Committee in conjunction with the Albany Technical College Police Department will be conducting the annual Fall Active Shooter Drill on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Albany Technical College’s Campus on South Slappey Boulevard in Albany. This is a drill not an exercise, so there will be no outside law enforcement agencies nor emergency personnel responding to this drill. To simulate gunshots, the Albany Technical College Police Department will be safely firing a shotgun, pointed in the air, loaded with blanks or what others may refer to as dummy rounds throughout the campus.
Mt. Zion Baptist Church Provides a Generous Donation to Albany Tech Foundation
Albany, Georgia –Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Albany presented the Albany Tech Foundation with a donation check for $7,500. Funds were designated to be used for the Albany Tech Engineering Preparatory Academy, Transportation, Adult Education and the Manufacturing program.
Albany Technical College Signs a Pathway Memorandum of Understanding with Indiana Wesleyan University
Albany Technical College (ATC) officially signed a Pathways Program understanding with Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 that paves the way for students at Albany Technical College with associate degrees to continue into the appropriate IWU baccalaureate degree completion program.

Technical College System of Georgia has identified fields that have many job openings. Throughcreating incentives to fill these positions several programs of study have been identified. Many of these programs are eligible for HOPE grant and HOPE Career Grant funding (free tuition).
