Albany Technical College Culinary Arts Hosts March 15 Showcase Event
ALBANY, GA – Albany Technical College Culinary Arts will host a special program showcase on Friday, March 15, 2018, 10 a.m., Logistics Education Center (LEC), Room 112. On hand for the event will be current and former students, faculty, staff, and area employers such as Austin’s Fire Grill, Doublegate Country Club, and The Bread House. The employers will highlight the economic importance of the food industry in this region and the partnerships that have been built between the local food industry and Culinary Arts at Albany Tech. The morning’s program also will feature culinary demonstrations and testimonials from several successful program graduates now working in the industry.

Albany Technical College RN Program Named in Top 10
ALBANY, GA – On March 1, RegisteredNursing.org .a nursing advocacy organization .released its 2019 Best RN Programs list. Albany Technical College’s Associate of Science (ASN) in Nursing (RN) program was ranked number seven out of 53 schools in Georgia analyzed by the organization. The ranking was based primarily on the student pass rates on the NCLEX-RN exam.

Program Refresh: Drafting Technology Changes to Engineering Graphics at Albany Technical College
ALBANY, GA – Albany Technical College has changed the name of a program, Drafting Technology, to Engineering Graphics, to better define what is being taught and to keep up with changes in technology in the industry. A “refreshed” Engineering Graphics Program will be rolled out on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, 10 a.m., Center for Excellence in Information Technology and Electronics (CEIT), Room 132. Dr. Emmett Griswold and employers from the community such as Metro Power, RHC, SRJ Architects, Dougherty County School System, and Technical Associates will be on hand to discuss the need for these skilled workers and the future of the industry.

Albany Technical College holds Titans Sophomore Night
Albany, Georgia – Albany Technical College (ATC) will hold its annual Sophomore Night during the regularly scheduled basketball games on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at the Albany State University HPER Gym. The event will honor several sophomore basketball players from the 2018-2019 season. The Lady Titans will kick off the evening’s games at 5:30 p.m., while the men’s team will play at 7:30 p.m. Both teams will go up against the Andrew College Tigers.

Albany Technical College has been Named One of the Top Military Friendly Schools
Albany, Georgia – Albany Technical College has been awarded a 2019 Military Friendly Silver Designation by VIQTORY, a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB) that connects the military community to civilian employment, educational and entrepreneurial opportunities through its G.I. Jobs ® , Military Spouse, and Military Friendly ® brands. The 2019-2020 List of “Better for Veterans” institutions was identified across the country and all participating schools were contacted in January informing them of their ranking.
